This year's edition of the Supercopa de España is unlikely to have the intensity of recent years, but don't expect either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid to take it lightly. It's not a Clasico, but the Copa del Rey winners will be looking to prove they belong among Spain's elite.
Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona, 2013 Spanish Super Cup: Preview and TV schedule
David Villa will face his old club as Atletico Madrid look to sew the seeds for an upset over Barcelona in the Supercopa de España.

Last season, Barcelona dropped the Supercopa to rivals Real Madrid. Thankfully for supporters of the Blaugrana, it didn't foreshadow any domestic troubles in the league. While Real did defeat them in the Copa del Rey, Barcelona won the league comfortably and went out of Champions League in the same round as their rivals.
Friday's match is likely to be the first one that new Atleti signing David Villa plays against his former club. He moved to the Vicente Calderon despite offers from English clubs and now faces the tough task of replacing the departed Falcao. On the other end of the pitch, his replacement Neymar could get his first start in a competitive match for his new club.
