Provided there is not so much swelling in his thigh that an MRI is not possible, he should have a scan to determine the severity of his injury on Thursday.
Messi had to miss a good chunk of action last spring due to a recurring hamstring injury and was also held out of some Argentinian national team matches. The team did not specify which muscle Messi injured in his upper leg, so this may or may not be an aggravation of the same injury that he had previously.
