Apparently, Chivas USA can't even win when they're up a man. FC Dallas played the last nine minutes of the match with 10 men and still managed two goals to down the Goats 3-1 at the Stub Hub Center.
Chivas USA vs. FC Dallas: Final score 1-3, Hoops storm back for win
Poor Chivas.
After a sleepy start to the match, Bryan De La Fuente put the home side in front just before halftime thanks to a gorgeous pass by Marco Delgado. The little chip over the top of the Dallas defense fell right to De La Fuente, who was all alone on goal, chested the ball down and finished easily.
Chivas' lead lasted until the 71st minute, when Blas Perez pulled Dallas level. A wonderful buildup that started with a long ball down the left for Fabian Castillo and a drag back to Perez at the top of the fox finished with his shot deflecting past Dan Kennedy for the equalizer.
Dallas' comeback seemed dead not long after when Jackson was sent off for his second yellow card, but David Ferreira made sure his side would win even with 10 men. Ramon Nunez slipped him in on goal and despite a sharp angle and closing Kennedy, he managed to flip the ball just inside the back post for a terrific go-ahead goal.
Nunez then got in the act himself, taking a ball down the left, cutting into his right foot and hitting a rocket to the top corner in the 90th minute to seal the win for FCD. It didn’t matter that they were down a men as Chivas’ embarrassing season continued with yet another spectacular loss in a near-empty stadium.
