Fulham vs. Arsenal: Preview and TV schedule

Fulham’s defense will be missing one starter and possibly a second as Arsenal visit Craven Cottage looking for their first points of the new season.

Clive Mason

Arsenal looked like a seriously wounded animal after their opening day loss to Aston Villa but a solid mid-week Champions League win over Fenerbahce reminded everyone that the Gunners aren't just going to roll over for everyone this season.

It's still a game that Fulham have to feel like they can get a result from though their defense could be hindered with Kieran Richardson sidelined and goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg doubtful. If Stekelenburg can make it back, it'll be a big boost at the back, otherwise David Stockdale will be under pressure from the Gunners attack.

Fulham injuries and suspensions

Out: Kieran Richardson (hamstring). In doubt: Maarten Stekelenburg (shoulder).

Arsenal injuries and suspensions

Out: Laurent Koscielny (suspended),Thomas Vermaelen (back), Abou Diaby (knee), Mikel Arteta (thigh), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee).

Arsenal will have only one fit central defender with Koscielny suspended and Vermaelen still recovering form a back injury. Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out three months, while Diaby and Areta are still working back from preseason injuries. For Fulham, goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg remains doubtful after suffering a shoulder injury in the season opener. Kieran Richardson is definitely out with a hamtring injury, likely forcing Matthew Briggs to take over at left back.

Projected lineups

Fulham: Stockdale, Reither, Hughes, Handeland, Briggs, Boateng, Sidwell, Duff, Taarabt, Kasami, Berbatov.

Arsenal: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Sagna, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Giroud.

Match Date/Time: 12:45 p.m. local, 7:45 a.m. ET

Venue: Craven Cottage, London, England

TV: NBC Sports Network (U.S.), BBC One (U.K.), Sportsnet (Canada)

Online: NBC Live Extra (U.S.)
