It was a busy day in the Europa League as the playoff round ground to a close, with the exception of one match that will be completed tomorrow.

Croatian side Rijeka pulled off a sizable upset defeating German side Stuttgart. With the match tied on aggregate and away goals Rijeka’s Goran Mujanovic scored four minutes into stoppage time to give his team the victory and move them on to the group stages.

Udinese were finished off by Czech club Liberec and Spartak Moscow were thumped by St. Gallen.

AZ Alkmaar’s match against Atromitos was abandoned early in the second half after a small fire broke out in the AFAS Stadion. The match resumed Thursday and AZ held on to advance on away goals.

Real Betis and Sevilla both advanced with Sevilla pulling off the biggest aggregate victory over the round, defeating Slask Wroclaw 9-1. Premier League clubs Tottenham and Swansea City both moved on to the group stages as well.
