He's proven to be a reasonably solid Serie A striker, scoring 51 league goals over the last five seasons. However, having only scored 13 times in his best single season, it's hard to see him setting the division alight at the rossoneri. In fact, it's hard to see what he adds to a team already having a similar player in Giampaolo Pazzini, and a superior striker in Mario Balotelli.
Matri's Juventus departure had become inevitable after the arrivals of Carlos Tévez and Fernando Llorente this summer, bolstering an attack already consisting of Sebastian Giovinco, Mirko Vučinić and Fabio Quagliarella. Matri made just ten league starts last season, and would've been sidelined even more in the upcoming campaign.
