Uruguay did the Albiceleste no favors with their win earlier in the day, but Argentina pulled off a big away win on Tuesday to qualify for the World Cup without any outside help. Since failing to qualify for the 1970 World Cup, Argentina have qualified for each subsequent tournament and won it twice in 1978 and 1986.
