Argentina became the first team to clinch their place in the 2014 World Cup on Tuesday with their emphatic win over Paraguay.
Argentina qualify for 11th straight World Cup

Dennis GrombkowskiUruguay did the Albiceleste no favors with their win earlier in the day, but Argentina pulled off a big away win on Tuesday to qualify for the World Cup without any outside help. Their 5-2 victory over Paraguay put them top of the table in CONMEBOL and made them the first team from South America to qualify for the finals.
Since failing to qualify for the 1970 World Cup, Argentina have qualified for each subsequent tournament and won it twice in 1978 and 1986.
