Liverpool have signed Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon, the club confirmed. The long-rumored deal for the 20-year-old was finally completed on the final day of the transfer window for an undisclosed fee, although it had been reported that the Reds would pay roughly £8 million for the Portugal product.
Liverpool complete signing of Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon
Tiago Ilori is making the move from Lisbon to Liverpool.

Ilori has just a dozen first-division appearances to his name so Liverpool aren’t signing him for what he can offer now, but what he can do going forward. The club aren’t short on central defenders, but they have identified one of Portugal’s best young talents and made a move for him -- even if they may not see the results for a year or longer.
Brendan Rodgers has made strengthening Liverpool's back line a priority this summer, with a focus on the center of defense. The club signed Kolo Toure and Aly Cissokho earlier in the window and, even after signing Ilori, they also signe Mamadou Sakho as well in an attempt to get younger at the back.
