Deadline day update: Ozil, Herrera, Mata and more

Arsenal get closer to Mesut Ozil, Manchester United pursue Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini, while Demba Ba, Juan Mata and more also feature in our deadline day update.

Carlos Alvarez

Mesut Ozil

Appears to still be on the verge of signing for Arsenal. Nobody is quite sure why it's taking so long, but it's a complicated transfer.

Ander Herrera

A bizarre scenario with a deal reportedly being agreed, but a "bureaucratic" error holding up proceedings at the Manchester United end, although reports still seem to think it will probably happen.

Juan Mata

Appeared to be without foundation, but Guillem Balague claimed several clubs made enquiries - all were rebuffed as Chelsea do not want to sell.

Demba Ba

A strange report citing an "unnamed Premier League club" had agreed a loan deal, with Chelsea reportedly turning down interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Marouane Fellaini

Still up in the air, but has been seen entering Everton's training ground, reportedly to hand in a transfer request, before leaving at speed.

Romelu Lukaku

Surprisingly strong reports linking the Chelsea striker with a season-long loan to Everton, with a deal looking like it could well happen.

Shane Long to Hull City

Seems possible provided that West Bromwich Albion can tie up a deal for Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe, both of which seem likely.

Gylfi Sigurdsson to Sunderland

Could be possible given Tottenham’s vast recruitment drive, and as a replacement for the outgoing Sessegnon, but there’s been little noise about it.
