WATCH: A headfirst tackle goes predictably awry

Lesson to the kids: Don’t tackle with your head.

Two-footed tackles are on their way out of the game, but apparently there needs to be a movement to remove face tackles too. We can thank Gaspar Iniguez for bringing this issue to the forefront.

Iniguez had fallen to the ground (gritty!), but he didn’t give up (scrappy!). He still tried to win the ball (gets stuck in!) and went for it with his face (committed!).

The only problem is that the ground, and the area around the ball, is typically reserved for feet. In this case, it was reserved for Christian Erbez.

The result: three teeth lost.

H/T: KICK

Iran thought they had advanced to the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout round. A less frequent aspect of the offside law disallowed the winning goal.
