Martín Demichelis' Manchester City career hasn't started too well. The 32-year-old arrived from Atlético Madrid during the transfer window, though a knee injury sustained in training means the Argentine centre-back will have to wait around six weeks before he can make his debut.
Martín Demichelis sidelined for six weeks
Manchester City have announced that defender Martín Demichelis will be out for around six weeks with a knee injury.

City announced the news in an official statement, revealing that Demichelis was suffering from ligament damage but that surgery was not required. While Demichelis will only be used as a backup for City this season, the news still comes as a blow for manager Manuel Pellegrini -- who worked with Demichelis at Málaga over the last few seasons.
That's because City still have some defensive injury concerns. Captain Vincent Kompany is still struggling with a groin injury and could miss out for several weeks yet, while Micah Richards has been battling knee problems since last season. Fortunately Matija Nastasić is now fit after an ankle injury, and partnered Joleon Lescott in defence in their unconvincing 2-0 win over Hull City last weekend.
