Manchester United vs. Sunderland: Preview and TV schedule

The Black Cats have a shot their their first cup final in over 20 years if they can hold on to their first leg lead against Manchester United.

Michael Regan

Sunderland hold a 2-1 lead after a the first leg of their Capital One Cup semifinal against Manchester United. If they can hold that lead they'll book their trip to a cup final since 1992.

Sunderland haven't lost since January 1st against Aston Villa, winning three out of four matches including the first leg. While Gus Poyet's side remains stuck in the relegation zone, they could use a trip to Wembley as a building block towards saving their league season. The fact they don't need a win on Wednesday gives Sunderland some room for error, which is good considering they haven't won at Old Trafford since 1968.

For Manchester United, things continue to get worse under first year coach David Moyes. After Sunday's loss against Chelsea they find themselves in 7th place, well adrift of the battle for Champions League places. On top of that, they've only won once in all competitions since the beginning of 2014.
