A month ago observers were ready to write off Real Madrid and proclaim their league season a flop as they languished five points being the league leaders. Now thanks to a ten match unbeaten run and there straight clean sheets, Madrid are a single point out of first and very much in the title race.

A win over Granada on Saturday would provisionally put Los Blancos in first -- both Atlético Madrid and Barcelona play Sunday -- for roughly 24 hours. While that's ultimately meaningless, it would be yet another positive building block for Carlo Ancelotti to use as the season moves towards February.
Granda should provide a solid challenge thanks in part to their strong away record this season, having only lose three times on the road. The Andalusian club’s recent trips to the Bernabéu have been less than memorable though, with two straight losses by a combined 8-1 scoreline.
In the return fixture back in August, Granada played Madrid tough but were unable to overcome an early goal from Karim Benzema in a 1-0 loss.
Real Madrid injuries and suspensions

Madrid are healthier than they’ve been in awhile with only Khedira and Varane currently injured. Varana is back training and is close to making his return after struggling most of the season with knee problems.
