Three hours before the winter transfer deadline closes, Leeds United have made news of an all together different sort by sacking head coach Brian McDermott.
Leeds United sack head coach Brian McDermott
As a takeover of the club by Italian Massimo Cellino looms, Leeds United have fired their head coach hours before the close of the transfer window.

The news broke on social media when Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening post tweeted:
CONFIRMED: Brian McDermott sacked by #lufc
— Phil Hay (@PhilHayYEP) January 31, 2014 Told that McDermott is "shocked and devastated" by the way the last week has gone. Shameful.
— Phil Hay (@PhilHayYEP) January 31, 2014 The news is more evidence that the takeover bid of Italian Massimo Cellino, who owns Cagliari, is set to go through. A consortium bid led by the club's managing director David Haigh fell apart on Thursday, but there have been reports that Cellino has been sighted at the club's training ground during the last week and that he was planning to replace McDermott with former Middlesbrough defender Gianluca Festa.
Fortunately Brian McDermott has found a way to keep himself busy while out of a job:
