Monday saw the latest batch of Euro 2016 qualifiers take place, and there was little doubt which game provided the biggest shock. Iceland continued their recent excellent form by winning 2-0 over the Netherlands in Reykjavík, with a brace from Gylfi Sigurðsson ensuring they took all three points.

Iceland’s win over the Netherlands was the shock of Monday’s Euro 2016 qualifying action.


There were almost surprises elsewhere, though Belgium hung on for a draw against an impressive Bosnia-Herzegovina. Italy just about squeezed a 1-0 win from their match away at minnows Malta, as Antonio Conte's underwhelming start to life as azzurri coach goes on.
