A winless Werder Bremen went to the Allianz Arena to take on league leaders Bayern Munich on Saturday. They went into the day sitting bottom, and weren't able to dig themselves out of the basement against the league leaders. They'll sit alone with the worst goal differential in the division after taking a 6-0 beating in Bavaria.

Bayern Munich were completely dominant at home against Werder Bremen in a match that featured the league’s top team against the bottom.

Raphael Wolf had a long day in goal for die Werderander. The Bayern attackers show any of the sluggishness that plagued Germany during the international break, and it was an easy win for the home side.
In the 20th minute, Bayern opened the scoring. David Alaba's cross found Thomas Müller in the middle of the area and it deflected slightly backwards. The ball fell to Philipp Lahm, and the midfielder was able to bag his first goal of the season.
A stunning free kick from Xabi Alonso that went under the wall six minutes later made it a two goal lead for the Bavarians. Wolf was notably upset with his defenders who were on the wall, but understandably they jumped, not wanting to allow the Spaniard the window to hit it up and over.
In the 43rd minute, Pep Guardiola’s men increased their lead to 3-0 as Thomas Müller converted a penalty in the 43’ after being fouled in the box by Sebastian Prödl. The 24-year old didn’t have any trouble slamming it into the left side of the net, sending Wolf the wrong way.
Mario Götze's curling strike hit the far post and banked in just shy of halftime, and the only real question that remained by this point is what the final margin would be. Götze received Alaba's pass on the left side of the box facing the byline, turned around and shot to the far side of the goal.
Bremen completed just 53 passes in the first half, more than 300 fewer than their pass-happy opponents. In the second half, Bayern looked to keep possession mostly but naturally had a few chances to break as the visitors pushed for a goal. Arjen Robben should have scored just shy of the hour mark, but his shot from close range went over the bar.
After half-time, both managers elected to make a change. Robin Dutt decided to put on Marnon Busch for Eljero Elia, and Guardiola subbed on Juan Bernat for David Alaba.
Franck Ribéry debuted his new beard in his return to the squad, coming on for Robben with half an hour to play. Xabi Alonso was also replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri.
Lahm was able to get his second goal of the season, after just opening his account an hour earlier. Müller may have been offside when the cross came in from the right wing, but Lahm was able to poke it in from close range.
Götze scored the sixth goal of the day four minutes from time, assisted by Müller.
