Champions League 2014 schedule, scores and results from Matchday 3

The Champions League returns for its third matchday across Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rejoice! After the dull pain that was the international break, proper competitive intercontinental football returns courtesy of the Champions League in midweek.

There are plenty of big games to feast upon, with Tuesday's highlights including Roma's match at home to Bayern Munich, Ajax's trip to fellow pass completion fans Barcelona, and Schalke's unpredictable home clash against Sporting Lisbon in an incredibly tight Group G.

On Wednesday, Atlético Madrid and Juventus will look to pull away from Malmö and Olympiakos, will all three sides in Group A sat on three points heading into Matchday 3. Liverpool will hope to bounce back from their stunning defeat at Basel with an incredibly tough match at home to reigning champions Real Madrid, and Galatasaray will be hoping to capitalise on Borussia Dortmund's recent struggles with a win in Group D.
