Mexico vs. Honduras live stream: How to watch their friendly online

Matthew Lewis

This time last cycle, Mexico appeared to have one of the best teams CONCACAF had ever seen. They're in a bit more of a rebuilding mode this time around, and they start that process on Thursday against Honduras (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

Mexico have called in a strong team, but it is a slightly experimental one, with many veteran and European-based players being given a rest. Rafa Marquez and ‘Maza’ Francisco Rodriguez are in the process of being replaced, while all of Hector Moreno, Diego Reyes, Andres Guardado, Raul Jimenez and Giovani dos Santos have been left out of this team. There are 11 players on this team that are 25 or younger, including the entire midfield, and the same number of players have fewer than 10 caps.

Honduras are a team in transition, too, and will need to improve on their World Cup showing if they want to compete for the 2015 Gold Cup title and a spot in the 2016 Copa America. They return most of their stars under new manager Hernan Medford, but will need to find new starters at goalkeeper and striker.

There are two options for watching the game online in the USA. If you prefer to watch in Spanish, the place to go is Univision Deportes en vivo. For those who prefer to watch in English, you can find a stream on the Watch ESPN app. Watching on that stream will require a TV subscription to ESPN2.
