Mexico start Carlos Vela and Chicharito while Netherlands rest Robin van Persie

The Netherlands and Mexico face off in a World Cup rematch with new faces on both sides.

Carlos Vela is back for Mexico, and he’s been put right into the starting lineup by Miguel Herrera. He announced El Tri’s team a day before the match as always, and there have been no late changes. It looks like young FC Porto star Diego Reyes is going to get an opportunity to play in the sweeper spot, while Andres Guardado continues to play as a shuttling midfielder instead of as a wingback.

The Netherlands don't have World Cup veterans Bruno Martins Indi, Daryl Janmaat or Nigel De Jong in their team, so their lineup has no surprises, even if it might look a bit experimental to those who haven't followed them since that tournament ended. Robin van Persie is rested due to a minor injury, but could play in his team's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier.

Netherlands lineup (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Ricardo Van Rhijn, Joel Veltman, Ron Vlaar, Jetro Willems; Daley Blind, Ibrahim Afellay, Wesley Sneijder; Arjen Robben, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Memphis Depay

Mexico lineup (3-5-2): Guillermo Ochoa; Oswaldo Alanis, Diego Reyes, Miguel Herrera; Paul Aguilar, Andres Guardado, Juan Vazquez, Hector Herrera, Adrian Aldrete; Carlos Vela, Javier Hernandez
