Ivory Coast killed off match by passing the ball for all of stoppage time

It’s 1 percent football and 99 percent funny.

The Ivory Coast only needed a draw to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon had already qualified and were down to 10 men. So when the match entered stoppage time level at 0-0, both teams were perfectly happy to wait for the final whistle, and that's exactly what they did.

That is three minutes of stoppage time without a Cameroon player touching the ball once.

Maybe it’s an insult to the sport to not play for the win. Maybe it’s good gamesmanship. Maybe it’s just how things go.

It is definitely hilarious and we support all hilarity.
