FC Grenchen, a Swiss third division team, lost 10-0 to the Lucerne youth team. That’s beyond horrific, but at least the club didn’t lose their heads and terribly overreact.
Team sacks 11 players after humiliating 10-0 loss
Because losing 10-0 wasn’t bad enough.

Oh wait, yeah they did. They cut 11 players.
When the players got to the training ground, there was a list of 11 players to be sacked. They were then told to empty their lockers and get out.
“It sounds brutal, but these players are not good enough for this league,” Grenchen sporting director Renato Brun told AZ Solothurn. “I am the head of sport and there to do something when [the club] is not running smoothly. I am one who talks less and does more.”
Grenchen sit at the bottom of the league with just five points from 14 matches. That is horrible, but cut 11 players horrible? Possibly, and this is just a suggestion, maybe the man who picked the players to begin with should bear some sort of responsibility instead of just blaming 11 players in the harshest way possible.
