The Chilean has stuck with his usual 4-4-2, with James Milner out on the left side, Fernando and Yaya Touré in the center of midfield, and Jesús Navas on the right. Stevan Jovetić has kept his place alongside Sergio Agüero up top, with Edin Džeko forced to settle for a spot on the bench.

CSKA Moscow coach Leonid Slutski has lined his side up a 4-2-3-1, with Ahmed Musa and Alan Dzagoev flanking Roman Eremenko and main center forward Seydou Doumbia.

Manchester City starting lineup (4-4-2): Joe Hart; Gaël Clichy, Martín Demichelis, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta; James Milner, Fernando, Yaya Touré, Jesús Navas; Stevan Jovetić, Sergio Agüero.
