Ajax vs. Barcelona: Lineups

Ajax’s defense should be very afraid.

David Ramos

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has pulled no punches in his selection for his side's Champions League match away at Ajax.

The Spaniard has named his strongest attack, with Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez all making the starting 11. Marc Bartra also gets the nod in the center of defense over Gerard Piqué, while Marc-André ter Stegen starts over Claudio Bravo between the sticks.

There are no real surprises in Frank De Boer’s starting lineup, with the highly-rated young attacker Arkadiusz Milik made to settle for a place on the bench. Kolbeinn Sigthórsson leads the line for the Dutch champions, flanked by Lasse Schöne and Anwar El Ghazi.

Ajax starting lineup (4-3-3): Jasper Cillessen; Nicolai Boilesen, Niklas Moisander, Joël Veltman, Ricardo van Rhijn; Lucas Andersen, Thulani Serero, Davy Klaassen; Lasse Schöne, Kolbeinn Sigthórsson, Anwar El Ghazi.

Barcelona starting lineup (4-3-3): Marc-André ter Stegen; Jordi Alba, Javier Mascherano, Marc Bartra, Daniel Alves; Xavi Hernández, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitić; Neymar, Messi, Luis Suárez
