Lionel Messi nears record because of hilariously bad goalkeeping

You may think you’re Manuel Neuer, but you’re not.

Jasper Cillessen thought it would be a good idea to come off his line for a ball. It wasn’t.

The problem is that he couldn’t get to the ball. He only flailed at it, then chased it down some more to no avail. Finally, he threw his arms up in the air like he knew what he was doing, but he didn’t.

Eventually, the ball was crossed into the middle, where Lionel Messi headed the ball into the wide open goal.

That goal moved Messi within one of Raul for the Champions League all-time scoring record, and he did it exactly as he always dreamed of it -- with a wide open net because the goalkeeper got lost on a hilarious adventure.
