Lights out in Besiktas vs. Tottenham, so fans make lights with their phones

After about seven minutes of action in the Europa League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Besiktas, the lights went out at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. This isn’t a terribly uncommon occurrence in soccer, but usually the lights get fired up and start to come back on very shortly afterwards. In this instance, that didn’t happen, though Spurs say it won’t be too long.

Everyone was super prepared for this and proceeded to get their cell phones out, which looked super cool. PLAY FREEBIRD.

Besiktas are temporarily playing in this stadium while waiting for their new stadium to be built. That project can’t be finished soon enough.
