Sergio Agüero injury: Manchester City striker leaves match against Everton in 5th minute

The City striker appears set to miss more time after a knee to knee collision with Everton’s Muhamed Bešić.

Manchester City’s oft-injured striker Sergio Agüero left Saturday’s match against Everton after less than five minutes, suffering an injury to his left knee.

Agüero collided with Everton’s Muhamed Bešić as both players went for a loose ball outside the Toffee’s box in the 3rd minute of the match. Agüero went down immediately, staying down for several minutes before slowly limping off the pitch. The Argentine eventually made his way around the outside of the pitch and into the locker room, limping and walking slowly. He was replaced by 18-year-old José Ángel Pozo.

It’s hard to predict the severity of the injury though Agüero appears to be in a lot of pain and had tears in his eyes as he limped around the pitch. If there’s any serious damage to the striker’s knee it will be a major blow to City’s hopes of catching Chelsea and repeating as EPL champions.

Agüero scored twice for City during the midweek in a 4-1 defeat of Sunderland.
