LA Galaxy vs. New England Revolution: Lineups for MLS Cup final

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The biggest question mark surrounding either team in Sunday's MLS Cup Final was the availability of A.J. DeLaGarza, who missed the second leg of the Western Conference finals with a hamstring injury. DeLaGarza was given the green light and is again starting at right back, where he's been playing often during the stretch run. Leonardo will get the start for the Galaxy alongside Omar Gonzalez at center back, with Dan Gargan moving to the bench.

The biggest change for the New England Revolution will be Kelyn Rowe returning to the starting lineup, effectively in place of Kevin Alston. Revolution head coach Jay Heaps had elected to use Chris Tierney in the midfield for the second leg of the Eastern Conference finals, opting for a more defensive setup and adding some crossing ability. Tierney moves to left back, with Andrew Farrell remaining on the right side.

Other than those slight changes, these are both essentially first-choice lineups.

Galaxy lineup: Penedo; DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, Leonardo, Rogers; Ishizaki, Sarvas, Juninho, Donovan; Keane, Zardes. Bench: Rowe, Dunivant, Husidic, Gordon, Meyer, Gargan, Walker.

Revolution lineup: Shuttleworth; Farrell, Soares, Gonçalves, Tierney; Caldwell, Jones; Rowe, Nguyen, Bunbury; Davies. Bench: Knighton, Alston, Barnes, Dorman, Kobayashi, Fagundez, Mullins.
