Storms cause postponement of multiple Premier League games

Manchester City’s game at home to Sunderland, as well as Everton’s game against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park, have been postponed due to unsafe conditions.

Tonight's game between Manchester City and Sunderland has been postponed due to unsafe conditions. More storms have hit an already badly-flooded UK, reportedly bringing winds of up to 100mph. Not exactly the sort of weather to be kicking a ball around in.

Greater Manchester Police tweeted confirmation that the game had been postponed, also issuing a severe weather warning in Manchester city centre due to strong winds:

It looked like this might not be the only Premier League match to fall victim to the weather this evening, though after a pitch inspection it looks like Stoke City's game at home to Swansea City will go ahead as planned -- albeit with a delayed kickoff:

Update: Everton vs. Crystal Palace is off as well. Goodison Park isn’t looking so good.
