The Premier League ended up having a relatively slow day thanks to the weather. High winds caused Manchester City vs. Sunderland and Everton vs. Crystal Palace to be postponed, leaving just four matches on the day's schedule.
Premier League wrap: Liverpool, Spurs both win as United and Arsenal play to draw
Chelsea are top after Arsenal managed a meager draw against Manchester United, while Liverpool and Spurs both won as the race for fourth was left unchanged.
Aside from a couple great saves by both keepers late in the match, nothing happened. United will take their away draw, but Arsenal have to see this as two points lost.
Newcastle United 0-4 Tottenham Hotspur
Emmanuel Adebayor kept rolling with two more goals, while Paulinho and Nacer Chadli each chipped in with one apiece as Spurs pounded Newcastle. It was the third consecutive for the Magpies, a stretch that has seen them outscored 10-0. Tim Krul was the biggest culprit on this day, spilling two rebounds for goals and allowing another shot to go underneath him, but he was hardly alone in poor performances, while Spurs kept the pressure on Liverpool for fourth.
Peter Crouch gave Stoke an early 1-0 lead, but it didn't hold up. Swansea responded well to going down a goal and in the 52nd minute, Chico Flores brought them level. It was a big goal for Chico, who has had a rough month and ran afoul of interim manager Garry Monk. The Swans now have four points from two matches under Monk, who has Swansea back on track.
Fulham 2-3 Liverpool
It looked like Liverpool might embarass themselves with dropped points to Fulham, but eventually, they were able to secure the full three. It just took until the 90th minute.
Kolo Toure's remarkable own goal put the Reds in a hole, but Daniel Sturridge pulled that goal back. The Reds then got on the front foot, but another defensive mistake, this time by Martin Skrtel, allowed Kieran Richardson to put the Cottages back in front. Philippe Coutinho then equalized Liverpool, but even after that, a draw looked likely. That changed in the 90th minute when Sturridge drew a penalty, which Steven Gerrard concerted and the Reds had stolen aall three points.
