It can’t be easy to be Zinedine Zidane’s son.
Well, maybe it can be easy to be Zidane’s son. Being raised as football royalty isn’t so bad, nor is genetics when you’re Enzo Fernandez (his mother’s name). Already starring for Real Madrid’s A team isn’t too bad either. But choosing a national team, that can be tough.
Apparently, it wasn't too tough for Enzo, though. The 18-year-old has chosen to play for France, accepting a call-up to Les Bleus' U-18 camp. He does still have the option of switching to Spain later on, if he would like, but for now he's siding with his birth country and the country his father led to a World Cup.
Next up, an all-Zidane Los Blancos and Les Bleus.
Enzo is the oldest of four, with 15-year-old Luca, 11-year-old Theo and eight-year-old Elyaz all in the Real Madrid academy as well. At the 2026 World Cup, 36 percent of the France team can be a Zidane.
