Unless you are a close follower of the Martinique national team, you’ve probably never heard of Kevin Parsemain. But if his goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps is any indication that may soon change.

The 25-year-old forward is hoping to earn a spot with the Seattle Sounders after bouncing around with a few lower-division clubs in France. Until now, the only reason you would have heard of him is because of some notable performances with Martinique's national team, which isn't even recognized by FIFA. They have, however, competed in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Caribbean Championship.
After scoring a pair of well-taken goals during the Sounders' recently concluded four-game run of preseason games in Arizona, Parsemain is surely bringing some more attention to the island classified as an "overseas region" of France. The best of his two goals, which came in two separate games against the Vancouver Whitecaps, came on Sunday.
With the game scoreless, Parsemain was able to line up a volley from about 19 yards and absolutely crushed it. The best part? He just turns and walks back to the center circle like it’s no big thing.
Somehow, I think he might know there’s more where that came from.
