The first half of El Clásico has had literally everything. Andres Iniesta scored the opener, then Karim Benzema scored twice, and now the match is level again. Lionel Messi was the scorer on Barcelona's second, picking up a loose ball in the box. He tried to set up Neymar, who couldn't get a shot off, but he was there to finish a return ball, sending the teams into halftime tied 2-2.
Lionel Messi scores, then El Clásico gets physical
But, in typical Clásico fashion, there was even more of a mess after the goal. It's not terribly clear how the scuffle starts, but some Real Madrid and Barcelona players ran into each other after the goal, resulting in something resembling a fight. It was enough of a mess that the commentators weren't sure whether or not the referee was allowing the goal to stand.
Thankfully, no punches were thrown and both clubs still have 11 men heading into the second half. Cesc Fabregas and Pepe were both shown yellow cards.
