Following up their sensational effort for the Netherlands' World Cup home kit, Nike have unveiled a clean but arguably more modern away look for Die Oranje in Brazil. Where the home kit was noteworthy for its simplicity, the away kit is full of subtle detail for a sleek look while incorporating classic components.
Die Oranje go blue for World Cup away kit

The new away shirt is blue from head to toe, starting out bright but slowly getting darker as the eye moves over the uniform from top to bottom, ultimately ending in an imperial purple at the hem. The blue is derived from not only the Dutch flag but from the official crest of the Dutch royal family as well as the from the cross in the current Royal Standard of the Netherlands.
The shirt features a sublimated isometric pattern from the neckline down to the hem, with the rhombi coming together to form chevrons pointing down. The badge is the same enlarged lion that’s on the home shirt, except this time, it appears in the team’s traditional orange color on a subtle, blue shield. The sleeves, blue and carrying the same pattern as the rest of the shirt, turn inside-out to reveal orange armbands while giving the wearer options to show one, both, or none. The shorts carry the shirt’s imperial purple downward and through the socks, completing the kit’s gradient look.
The cooling technology that is available on the rest of Nike’s offerings for the World Cup is also present in the Dutch away kit. The kit also utilizes the gorgeous typeface designed by Wim Crouwel for the players’ names and numbers.
