adidas keep the party going with even more colorful Carnaval Pack

In the buildup to the 2014 World Cup, adidas have already shown a number of the cards in their hand. The Samba Pack of boots made a lot of noise in the latter stages of last year with a similar release for the Copa Mundial a few months later. We’ve also seen the official ball (in all of its glory) and the away kits that the teams with three stripes on their shoulders will wear. Still, it seems that adidas are nowhere near done.

The Samba Pack of boots was outlandish for its color choices, introducing bright orange (Solar Zest), neon green (Solar Slime), deep pink (Vivid Berry), and a dark purple (Blast Purple) into the mix. On top of that, the pack saw some major improvements to both the f50 and 11Pro lines of boots. Then, adidas introduced those colorways to the Copa Mundial, really signalling their intent by changing the classic black-and-white boot. The Brazuca was another revolution in its own way, adding a brand new panel design and texture to adidas’ top-of-the-line ball, making it great once more.

Now, with just 100 days to go to the World Cup, adidas have come up with even more intense look for their four modern boot silos, bringing brighter colors (and textures) to the mix. Carnaval has been in full swing in Brazil, having started at the end of February, but is now winding down with today, the fourth of March, as its final day. adidas have decided to launch a new boot four-pack, dubbed the Carnaval Pack and being sold as a limited-edition release, to keep one of the world’s biggest parties going on the pitch.

Feathers, a staple of costume design at Carnaval, are widely celebrated in the new adidas release, taking a prominent place on the heels of all four boots with a texture inspired by the Amazon Rainforest overlaying the upper. The Adizero F50 is dressed in vibrant orange and pink across its upper with the SPRINTFRAME outsole taking up the latter color. The Adipure 11Pro is mainly bright green, including the three stripes, with orange detailing on the heel and outsole. The Nitrocharge continues the design theme with a vibrant pink front and blue heel and outsole. Finally, the Predator LZ2 is blue on top of silver with green accents, heel, and outsole. Each boot has received a reflective treatment that adidas say is designed to “catch the light and spread it like Carnaval ticker tape on pitch.”

Speaking about the boots, adidas Designer Romain Girard said:

“For the Carnaval Pack we wanted to make sure we brought all the freshness and excitement of the Brazilian Carnaval to the boots. Regardless of the individual features each boot has, they all connected together and were effectively part of a pack, and with the Carnaval pack we feel we have achieved this.”

All in all, the Carnaval Pack from adidas is wild. It is not only an extremely vibrant design but one that is very detailed, something that adidas have mastered (and was on show in the Yamamoto F50 earlier this year). The boots are available today from adidas and selected retail partners.
