South Korea are looking a much improved team from the one that suffered a couple of small setbacks in Asian World Cup qualifying, while Greece look very much the part of a team that barely qualified for the finals by finishing second in an easy group and beating an average playoff opponent. The Koreans were far superior on the night and deserved their 2-0 home win.
Greece vs. South Korea: Final score 0-2, Son Heung-Min the star
South Korea looks ready for the World Cup, while Greece have some work to do.

Greece were under serious pressure from the start, with Panagiotis Glykos getting forced into a big save on Lee Chung-Yong in the 7th minute. The Koreans didn't have to wait long to find their breakthrough, eventually capitalizing on their dominance with a goal in the 18th minute. Son Heung-Min set up the goal, finding Park Chu-Young with a brilliant chipped pass over the top of the Greek defense, and Park finished coolly.
The best chances for the hosts came in the 31st minute, when they hit the crossbar twice in 10 seconds off a set piece. Georgios Samaras struck the bar with a shot from 12 yards, which was followed up by a header from Avraam Papadopoulos that met the same fate.
Son, who was South Korea's dangerous player all night, got a goal of his own in the 55th minute. The assist came from Koo Ja-Cheol, who played the Bayer Leverkusen man in with an excellent through ball, making the subsequent shot a simple one-on-one chance for the Koreans' biggest star. From there, the visitors were well in control and Greece struggled to create chances. The Greeks finished the game with just one shot on target.
