Toronto FC’s training pitch isn’t doing so well

Toronto FC’s millions couldn’t beat Mother Nature, yet.

Toronto FC pay Michael Bradley $6.5 million, they pay Jermain Defoe $6.18 million and their entire payroll is nearing 17 million. They're also trying to push through a $110 million renovation to BMO Field and despite committing to millions in spending, claim that they are not done splashing the cash.

And yet their training pitch looks like this:

TFC opened their $21 million training ground in 2012 (one that includes an indoor artificial pitch where they train early in the season), but apparently they haven’t figured out how to beat the weather yet. Just give them another couple years and a few more millions and they’ll defeat Mother Nature too.

In the meantime, nine points from four matches and the top spot in the East will have to do. And they did it with brown grass.

Heroes.
