All kids want to do is play and all parents want for their kids is for them to be happy. For Adrian Grajeda, playing meant playing soccer, and he was happy as can be doing it.
Boy playing soccer again after losing part of his leg
Some 10-year-olds are tougher than others. And some 10-year-olds are tougher (and happier) than any adult too.

Then less than six months ago, the 10-year-old lost part of his leg when a car drove onto a soccer field at recess and hit him. He played the role of hero, pushing a girl out of the way so she wouldn’t be hit, but he couldn’t get out of the way.
It took four surgeries and seven blood transfusions for Grajeda to get back to health, but he did it. And it took a prosthetic for Grajeda to get back on the soccer field, but he did that too.
Grajeda is playing soccer again.
“If you just sit inside all day feeling bad for yourself, you won’t get anything done,” Grajeda told KESQ.
If anyone had an excuse to give up or be down on himself, it was Grajeda, but he didn’t. He’s a 10-year-old kid and all he wants to do is play so that’s what he is doing. He runs around, passes, shoots and defends. He is a soccer player, just like you might be a soccer player or Lionel Messi is a soccer player.
Grajeda’s current prosthetic doesn’t allow him to bend at the ankle, making it tough for him to play, but his family is raising money to help buy him an athletic prosthetic. You can help by visiting here.
