Brentford celebrate promotion like pros: pitch invasion and drinking with fans

#PeakPromotion

Ben Hoskins

Brentford went into Friday needing three things to clinch promotion to the Championship:

1. Leyton Orient had to lose.

2. They had to win.

3. Rotherham had to lose.

The first part was taken care of before Brentford finished their match so they were one-third of the way there. Then, they beat Preston North End and despite still being just 67% of the way to promotion, their fans celebrated like Brentford were already into the Championship.

And because all good parties should be rewarded, even the premature ones, Rotherham lost to clinch Brentford’s place in the second division.

You could say they were a little bit excited.

And how does a team celebrate getting their club to the Championship for the first time in 21 years? Go get hammered at the local pub where the fans will buy you drinks all night, of course.

Ain’t no party like a Brentford party.
