Corinthians pay tribute to Ayrton Senna with yellow helmets
RIP Senna.

With Thursday marking the 20th anniversary of his death, Corinthians took their match on Wednesday as an opportunity to pay tribute to one of Sao Paulo’s most beloved sons, walking onto the field with replicas of Senna’s iconic yellow helmet.
In the stands, Corinthians fans unfurled a banner for Senna, with his face and name drawn in the middle of a checkered flag.
This was hardly the first time Brazilian soccer paid tribute to Senna. Brazil dedicated their 1994 World Cup to Senna and after winning the tournament, took photos on the field while holding up a banner in tribute to Senna.
Twenty years later, the memorials and celebrations continue for the man who captured a country, and the world.
