If you’re looking for a Champions League final apéritif, then the playoff final should do the job nicely. Commonly known as the most valuable game on earth due to the massive commercial gains earned by those promoted to the Premier League, it’ll be a nailbiting affair with much at stake. QPR are looking to bounce back to the top flight at the first time of asking, while Derby County haven’t tasted top level football since being relegated in 2008.

QPR beat Wigan 2-1 in extra time of their second leg to progress to the playoff final, while Derby were rather more comfortable, demolishing Brighton 6-2 on aggregate. It’s Steve McClaren’s Rams that head in with the better record in the league this season, having picked up five more point than the Hoops over the 46 games that make up the regular campaign.

However, they’ll still be without both Shaun Barker and Paul Coutts with injury. QPR, on the other hand, have only Jermaine Jenas certainly unavailable, though Alejandro Faurlin and Matt Phillips could both miss out having just returned from long-term layoffs.
