Sergio Ramos sends us to extra time

Real Madrid have found a 93rd minute equalizer from ... who else?

Michael Regan

Real Madrid have struggled all match long against Atlético Madrid, but they've earned themselves a chance to right all of their wrongs. And the hero is none other than Sergio Ramos, the man who was their savior in both legs of their Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich. Thanks to his header, the Champions League final is tied up at 1-1 and is going to extra time.

Atléti had been nearly perfect defensively throughout the match, giving Real no chances from inside the box. Gareth Bale was the only player to have anything resembling a good chance all match, and he missed all of them.

But when Madrid needed a goal out of nothing, Ramos fought his way to the ball and beat Thibaut Courtois for a header. Sometimes, fight matters quite a bit. Though it certainly doesn't hurt that Ramos is incredibly athletic and pretty good at placing headers exactly where he wants them to go.
