Atlético Madrid were just two minutes of stoppage time away from lifting the European Cup for the first time, but they were unable to hang on, and the 2014 Champions League final is headed for extra time. Sergio Ramos scored in the 93rd minute for Real Madrid, stunning the Rojiblancos and leveling the match at 1-1.

Atléti scored the first goal of the game in the first half, off a set piece and a bad error by goalkeeper Iker Casillas. He came out for a ball he couldn’t claim, then failed to recover when Diego Godin nodded a lobbed header towards his goal and over the line.
Real Madrid struggled to find a breakthrough in the second half, but their desperation flooding of the Atléti box eventually paid off through an equalizer from Ramos.
The teams will now play 30 minutes of extra time, split up into two 15-minute halves. There is no golden goal, and since this is a final at a neutral site, no away goals. If the score is tied at the end of 120 minutes, the match will be decided on penalties.
