Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer died on Wednesday at the age of 85, according to a press release from the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. United have yet to release a statement concerning Glazer's death, and no specifics of cause of death have been released

Glazer, who purchased United in 2005, passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 85.

“We are saddened to announce the passing of Owner/President Malcolm Glazer earlier this morning at the age of 85.”
Glazer purchase United in 2005, a move that has beed widely criticized by fans over the last nine years due to the large amount of debt that has been incurred. During his time as the teams owner, the Red Devils won the Premier League five times and the Champions League once.
United, along with the Buccaneers, were both owned by Glazer, though he was not active with the United board. Glazer’s sons Avram and Joel are currently the club’s co-chairmen, while his other four children are all serving as directors. The Glazer family retains 90 percent of Manchester United’s ownership.
