Younes Kaboul got sent off in the 25th minute and that was that for Spurs. Just a couple of minutes after that, Harry Kane deflected an Andy Carroll header into his own net and Stewart Downing scored the second of the game with a direct free kick.
Aston Villa 3-1 Hull City
Villa's safety wasn't terribly in doubt, but this result sealed their Premier League place for next season. After scoring just a minute in, Villa briefly forgot how to play football and conceded an own goal in the 28th minute, but Andi Weimann took over at the end of the second half. The Austrian forward netted twice in five minutes, firing Villa to victory.
Manchester United 0-1 Sunderland
#GIGGSOUT. It turns out David Moyes wasn't the whole problem. Sunderland scored in the 30th minute when Sebastian Larsson turned in a cross by Connor Wickham and the Black Cats never looked back. They were the better side throughout and thoroughly earned their win. And they're now all but safe, unless they choke next week while Norwich goes on a surprise run.
Newcastle United 3-0 Cardiff City
Newcastle fans had a walkout planned for this match and they didn't let a little thing like a solid performance deter them from doing so. Shola Ameobi scored in the 18th minute to put them up, but the fans still walked out in the 69th minute, while some others stuck around while holding up anti-Alan Pardew banners. With Cardiff pushing hard for an equalizer, Newcastle scored again in the 87th minute. And once Cardiff were demoralized and resigned to their fate -- a trip to the Championship -- they conceded a third.
Stoke City 4-1 Fulham
Poor Fulham. Felix Magath made an entirely tactical change in the 30th minute, subbing off a healthy Lewis Holtby, and then his side conceded nine minutes later. They never looked like getting the result they needed out of this one, and will spend next year in the second division.
Rickie Lambert scored in the 93rd minute, ruining all kinds of silly accumulator bets and costing lads everywhere tens of pounds.
