A thrown toilet bowl ended the life of one fan.

Santa Cruz and Parana fans clashed in a second division match at Arruda Stadium in Recife and, according to the police officer, this led fans to rip three toilets out of a restroom. All three were then thrown into the stands and the one that left one fan dead was the only toilet known to cause injury. There were no reports of additional injuries from other violence at the match, which finished in a 1-1 draw.
The 2014 World Cup begind in six weeks, but Arruda Stadium is not going to host any matches this summer. Recife will host four World Cup matches, but they will be played at the newly constructed Arena Pernambuco.
