Player celebrates goal by eating banana, gets yellow card

Famara Diedhiou took #weareallmonkeys a step further.

When Dani Alves responded to a racist throwing a banana at him by eating it, a social media movement #weareallmonkeys spread. Players around the world, as well as fans, posted pictures of themselves with bananas.

On Saturday, Famara Diedhiou of Ajaccio took things a step further when he celebrated a goal by eating a banana.

Unfortunately for Diedhiou, he was shown a yellow card for his celebration. Apparently, it falls under the “provocative” celebration category, which is a bookable offense.

Still, he got his goal, and it was the winning goal at that.
