World Cup audience learns all about spray cans

No, your eyes weren't deceiving you: Japanese referee really did spray a line marking off the required 10 yards for a Neymar free kick in Thursday's World Cup opener.

While many reacted with amusement, it’s actually a practice that has been employed in the North American leagues of Liga MX and MLS for several years.

The can is actually filled with shaving cream and disappears within a couple minutes. It’s proven quite popular since being approved by FIFA and the English Premier League is even getting ready to use it.
