After failing to agree to a new contract with Arsenal, Bacary Sagna has agreed to move to their Premier League rivals, Manchester City, on a free transfer. The Gunners announced his departure on Tuesday.
Bacary Sagna agrees to sign for Manchester City
Arsenal players continue to chase that Manchester City bank.

At City, Sagna will re-unite with Gael Clichy, who was the starter opposite him at left back for the better part of the four years that they spent together at Arsenal. That pair is part of a club of five players who have left Arsenal to get paid more at City, along with Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Kolo Toure.
City have some financial restrictions on them because of UEFA Financial Fair Play violations, so they’re probably very pleased that they were able to pick up a player as good as Sagna on a free transfer. However, because he knew City didn’t have to pay a fee, Sagna was probably able to negotiate a hefty wage increase.
Sagna will compete with Argentina international Pablo Zabaleta for time at right back, though Zabaleta has played left back before, while Sagna can play in central defense, so it's possible that we could see both of them on the same pitch a few times next season.
