Head coach Didier Deschamps has requested, and received, an investigation by FIFA into an incident during French national team training on Sunday. Apparently, a drone aircraft of some kind hovered over the team’s training camp, leading Deschamps to believe that there was a possible spying mission underway.

Seriously.

According to a story in the Guardian, FIFA is going to look into the incident that occurred in Ribeirão Preto, France's base of operations during the World Cup.

Deschamps discussed the unwanted intruder during a press conference, and apparently he’s taking this pretty seriously.

“Apparently drones are used more and more,”

“It’s not up to me, Fifa handles this and has been carrying out an inquiry; we don’t want any intrusion into our privacy. It’s very hard to fight this these days.”

No word as yet on whether or not the drone was actually Robin Van Persie flying around Brazil.
