USA vs. Ghana, 2014 World Cup: Lineups

Jurgen Klinsmann has no surprises.

Lineups are out for the United States' big Group G opener against Ghana, and it's a very attacking one for the Ghanaians. The USA, meanwhile, line up as expected.

Jurgen Klinsmann has made no changes from the team that beat Nigeria in the USA's final friendly, keeping the successful side intact. Kyle Beckerman and Jermaine Jones start together, with Alejandro Bedoya joining Jones in the middle and Michael Bradley starting ahead of him. An injury to Timothy Chandler left the fullbacks set in stone.

Ghana had been using a 4-3-3 but have switched away from it, surprisingly dropping Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng. Those two haven't been in great club form and have been taken out for players who are currently performing better, but their omissions are still slightly surprising.

United States lineup (4-4-2 diamond): Tim Howard; DaMarcus Beasley, Matt Besler, Geoff Cameron, Fabian Johnson; Kyle Beckerman, Jermaine Jones, Alejandro Bedoya, Michael Bradley; Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore

Ghana lineup (4-4-2): Adam Kwarasey; Kwadwo Asamoah, John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Daniel Opare; Andre Ayew, Mohammed Rabiu, Sulley Muntari, Christian Atsu; Jordan Ayew, Asamoah Gyan
